Joshua Alvares

Physiotherapist.

Joshua is a dedicated and passionate physiotherapist who graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2023. After completing his studies, he went on to perform his community service year in the Free State, where he gained invaluable hands-on experience working with a diverse range of patients and conditions. 

 With a strong foundation in physiotherapy and a commitment to providing quality care, Joshua is eager to continue developing his skills and expanding his knowledge. Although still exploring various areas of physiotherapy, Joshua has a particular interest in helping patients with musculoskeletal conditions and sports injury recovery, aiming to restore movement and quality of life through individualized patient-centred treatments.

Leander Snyman

Physiotherapist.

Leander is originally from Bloemfontein in the heart of the Free State, where he completed his degree in 2023.

Leander's passion for Physiotherapy is very closely related to his love for different types of sport and he also really enjoys working both in the hospital and the outpatient settings. Leander strives to make a positive difference, connect with those around him and always treat my patients respectfully and with compassion.

Leander does not see physiotherapy just as a career, but also as his calling.

Senior Physiotherapist with a special interest in Neuro and orthopaedic rehabilitation.

Carle's passion for Neurology is based on her fascination with the power of the mind and the resilience of the human body. Carle is kind and compassionate that enjoys helping others.

Marinet Du Toit

Founder and Senior Physiotherapist

Marinet is the passionate founder of Dial a Physio. ​She completed her BSc Physiotherapy (Pretoria) in 2009, followed by her community service at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria.

​She has worked in a variety of settings including Rehabilitation and out-patient practices, before establishing her own home visit and private practice service 'Dial a Physio'. ​

She has completed her basic and advance Bobath courses and OMPT. She has a special interest in Neurological and Musculoskeletal Conditions.

Runé du Plessis

Physiotherapist.

Runé graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Stellenbosch. She completed her community service in the Free State, whereafter she exchanged the inlands for the beautiful coast to join the Dial a Physio team. 

 Runé's special interests include neurological rehabilitation and sports physiotherapy. She is passionate about serving people and thankful for the part she gets to play in their journey of recovery. She is dedicated to her patients and eager to grow and learn new skills continually.

Nadia de Kock

Physiotherapist.

A passionate and hardworking physiotherapist driven by a deep desire to make a meaningful difference. With a genuine love for the profession, there is a commitment to delivering the highest standard of care, always going the extra mile to ensure the well-being and progress of patients. Nadia graduated from the University of the Free State in 2022 and completed her community service in the Transkei before joining Dial a Physio in 2024. 

 Nadia has a keen interest in neurology, paediatrics and musculoskeletal conditions and is currently enrolled in the Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Course for 2025 to further her expertise. Through a patient-centred approach, Nadia is dedicated to helping her patients regain their independence and quality of life.

Each patient is approached with empathy and compassion, recognizing their unique needs and tailoring treatment plans accordingly. Adaptability allows for handling diverse cases and effectively adjusting the approach to suit individual requirements.

Susanne Viljoen

Senior Physiotherapist 

Susanne is diligent and reliable.

Susanne completed her BSc degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2021.  She went on to complete her community service at Abraham Esau Hospital in Calvinia. 

Susanne is dedicated to providing the best care. In her spare time, she has a taste for adventure.

Hardus Smith

Senior Physiotherapist

Hardus moved to Kleinmond from Pretoria, he now works with us in Hermanus as well as in Kleinmond. He completed his BSc Physiotherapy in Pretoria. 

​He has worked in a variety of settings including in-patient and out-patient settings, taking a special interest in orthopaedics physiotherapy. ​

Hardus joined our team in January 2023, moving his young family from Pretoria to Kleinmond.

Charlotte van Rooyen

Practice Manager

Charlotte is our vibrant practice manager; she is there to assist each patient ensuring that they are well looked after.

​She has worked in a variety of settings and has brought a wealth of experience to Dial a Physio. ​

Charlotte will greet you with a warm smile and direct you, accordingly, ensuring that you are well looked after. She is absolutely the backbone of the practice manage all day-to-day tasks and ensuring that the therapist's schedules are correctly organised.  Charlotte has a mother's heart and will leave you feeling warm and understood.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment which uses low energy acoustic wave and a coupling medium to transmit sound waves to the tissues for the treatment. These sound waves produce a therapeutic effect causing a decrease in pain thus increasing mobility and functionality by triggering the body's healing process.

Kineso Tapping

PhysiotherapyKineso tapping is a therapeutic taping technique which alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin increasing interstitial space and allowing for decreased inflammation in affected areas.

TENS & EMS Therapy

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a pain management treatment method done by physiotherapists. It helps reduce a patient’s pain to prepare them for a more effective and efficient exercise with the best possible or full range of motion (body movement).

 Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is a type of electrotherapy stimulates a muscle contraction using electrical impulses in order strengthen weak muscles, reduce swelling, relieve pain and help heal wounds. 

Nebulisation

A Nebuliser is a piece of medical equipment that can help deliver medication directly to the lungs and the respiratory system where it is needed.  

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an invasive treatment technique. Whereby the physio will insert fine filament needles through the skin to the underlying tissues, primarily muscles, to stimulate a therapeutic response.  

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy is a treatment commonly used in physical therapy to provide deep heating to soft tissues in the body. These tissues include muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments.
